BABYSITTER

One of my Mermen--complete with his own little merbaby! An exhausted yet enterprising Dad decides to take a nap while babysitting his little girl--properly ensconced in her giant clamshell play pen, with her mer-teddy bear and hanging toys. The toys will keep her occupied for a while--but, just to be sure--he fastens a woven seaweed twine from her chubby little wrist and wraps the end around his own wrist. Just a few zzzz--zzzz's--he tells himself....as he slips into peaceful oblivion! There's a red/purple octopus sneaking a peek at the tranquil scene, and 3 multi-hued fishes swim closer for a better look. Done in ink, watercolor and a bit of acrylic on thick acid-free watercolor paper.
